Our advanced endoscopy program performs approximately 1,200 ERCPs and 800 EUS examinations each year across Clements University Hospital and Parkland Memorial Hospital. Importantly, we maintain an exceptionally high volume of native papilla ERCPs, ensuring that fellows receive comprehensive exposure to complex, real-world therapeutic cases. Our faculty bring extensive experience across the full spectrum of advanced endoscopic procedures, supported by a robust advanced endoscopy fellowship that has trained fellows continuously since 2006.

Education is a central priority of our program. We offer a structured curriculum that includes monthly didactic sessions through our dedicated Biliary Conference, multidisciplinary case discussions, and hands-on teaching across all therapeutic procedures. Fellows also receive institutional support to attend national and international endoscopy courses, enhancing their technical skills, exposure to emerging technologies, and career development.

In addition to clinical excellence, our faculty are deeply engaged in research and innovation. They lead and participate in multiple clinical studies and have published extensively on gastrointestinal diseases and advanced endoscopic interventions. Importantly, our group has authored and contributed to multiple national guidelines through the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), underscoring our role in shaping national standards of care.

Treatment of a range of gastrointestinal conditions, including:
• Disorders of pancreas, including pancreatitis, cysts, and cancer
• Disorders of the biliary tract including strictures, stones, and cancer
• Luminal obstruction
• Barrett’s esophagus

Procedures include:
• Barretts ablation – RFA and Cryoablation
• Complex polypectomy
• Complex stricture dilation
• Endoscopic mucosal resection
• Endoscopic submucosal dissection
• Endoscopic pseudocyst drainage and necrosectomy
• Endoscopic ultrasound
• ERCP including cholangioscopy
• Enteral and esophageal stenting
• Interventional endoscopic ultrasound (EUS Gallbladder Drainage, EUS Gastrojejunostomy, EUS Choledochoduodenostomy)
• Peroral endoscopic myotomy (E POEM and G POEM)
• Pelvic abscess drainage
• Zenker’s diverticulotomy and Z POEM
