      1. Prior to appointment in the advanced endoscopy fellowship, fellows should have completed a three-year ACGME-accredited gastroenterology fellowship

Additional Information about Program

The instructor is expected to train in advanced Endoscopy based on a three steps process, while
being exposed from the very first day to all interventional procedures.

1-Jul-Oct 2027: Basic Skills in Advanced Endoscopy
This first period is characterized by learning the most elementary components of interventional
endoscopy such as:
-Cannulation during ERCP, biliary and pancreatic sphincterotomy, stone extraction and stenting.
-Diagnostic endoscopic ultrasonography will be also taught with introduction of fine needle
aspiration (EUS- FNA)
-Enteral feeding and enteral stenting (duodenal, esophageal and colonic stenting)

2-November-March 2027-28: Intermediate Skills in Advanced Endoscopy
The second period with be focusing on more complex procedures such as
-Spy choledochoscopy with biliary biopsy and sampling
-complex hilar stenting with multiple metal stents


3-April-June 2028: Cutting-edge skills in Advanced Endoscopy
The final period will allow the fellow to learn the most complex procedure such
-Ablation therapy, photodynamic and radiofrequency under Spy visualization
-Laser lithotripsy and Electrohydrolic
-Pancreatic fluid collection drainage and necrosectomy
-Single balloon enteroscopy with ERCP
- EUS Guided ERCPs
- Endoscopic suturing, clipping and closure technique
- Per oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM)
- Endoscopic weight loss techniques
