Additional Information about Program

The advanced therapeutic endoscopy training program was designed and restructured to include hands-on training in Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Cholangioscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Fine Needle Aspiration/Biopsy (FNA/FNB), Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), Single Balloon Enteroscopy (SBE), and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR). Moreover, the training program will include exposure to Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD), Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM), and Transoral Endoscopic Fundoplication. Candidates who match within the program will be recruited as clinical instructors of medicine within the division of gastroenterology and should be able to bill for general GI endoscopic procedures.The training program is structured to involve 50–60% protected time in training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy, 25% of the candidate's time will be involved in performing general endoscopic procedures, and there will be a 1/2-day clinic per week.The candidate will interact closely with other trainees such as GI fellows, residents, and medical students.The candidate will participate in ~4-6 weeks of inpatient GI rotation during the training and 6-8 weeks of general GI calls per year.
