Additional Information about Program

The Center for Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy (CATE) offers one of Florida’s most dynamic and high-volume training environments for aspiring advanced endoscopists. Established in 2023 and located in North Central Florida, CATE brings cutting-edge innovation to Gainesville, FL and the surrounding region. As part of **HCA North Florida—the largest HCA hospital in the state—**we serve as the central referral hub for complex GI care, receiving transfers from across Florida. This creates an exceptional training landscape with unparalleled case diversity and volume.

As a fellow at CATE, you will train directly under two highly experienced leaders in interventional endoscopy, gaining extensive hands-on experience across the full spectrum of advanced procedures. Fellows can expect:

-High-volume pancreatico-biliary exposure, including some of the most complex cases in the region
-Mastery of tissue resection, luminal stenting, and endoscopic closure
-Training in endoscopic bariatric procedures
-Meaningful exposure to third-space endoscopy, including POEM and ESD

Our program is uniquely positioned within a busy community teaching hospital, offering you a firsthand understanding of how to build and run a thriving advanced endoscopy private practice. Fellows participate in multidisciplinary conferences and collaborate closely with subspecialists across the system, strengthening both clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.

Our goal is simple: to equip you with the skill, confidence, and independence needed to launch your own high-level advanced endoscopy practice immediately after fellowship. If you’re seeking comprehensive, high-volume, expert-guided training in a supportive and innovative environment, CATE offers an unparalleled opportunity to grow into the advanced endoscopist you aspire to be.
