Additional Information about Program

The advanced therapeutic endoscopy training program is designed and restructured to include hands-on training in Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Cholangioscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Fine Needle Aspiration/Biopsy (FNA/FNB), Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), Single Balloon Enteroscopy (SBE) and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR). Moreover, the training program will include exposure to third space endoscopy, Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD), Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM). Candidates who are matched within the program will be recruited as a clinical instructor of medicine within the division of gastroenterology and should be able to bill for general GI endoscopic procedure. The training program is a structure to involve 50-60% protected time in training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy, 25% of the candidate time will be involved in performing general endoscopic procedure and 1/2-day clinic per week. Candidate will interact closely with other trainees such as GI fellows, residents, and medical students. Candidates will participate in ~4-6 weeks of weekly inpatient GI rotation during the training and will be involved in the general GI/advanced calls per year per schedule.
