     1. Prior to appointment in the advanced endoscopy fellowship, fellows should have completed a three-year ACGME-accredited gastroenterology fellowship

Additional Information about Program

The Advanced Endoscopy Fellow is responsible for taking care of complex pancreaticobiliary patients and procedures. The fellow spends most of their time in the endoscopy suite but may need to see patients on the floor when needed. The fellow interacts directly with the attendings and the nurse practitioner who assists with managing the care of the inpatient pancreaticobiliary patients. It is expected the fellow will present patients under their care to the tumor board, when needed, and interact with surgery, interventional radiology and oncology colleagues. Advanced endoscopy fellowship is a demanding year. We want the fellow to complete your training competent to care for complex patients and capable of performing advanced procedures.

Training will occur with:
1. Dr. Paul Yeaton, who trained in advanced endoscopy in Brussels, Belgium under Michel Cremer, and has been offering advanced training since 2001.
2. Dr. Vivek Kesar who trained in advanced endoscopy at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
3. Dr. Varun Kesar who trained in advanced endoscopy at University of Maryland.
